I always say to know what your customers want you have to ask them. So what happened when I asked my audience a question and I got crickets… aka not a single person answered. It’s definitely not the best feeling but I got over it, made some adjustments and tried again. After taking these three steps my second try was a success. A ton of people replied and I was able to help people!
If You’re Not Into Videos ( Even though the video is better 😉 )
This Sums It up...
- I asked my audience a question and got no replies
- I made adjustments and tried again and it worked!
- Change the format
- Change the language
- Make it easy
- Put it out there again!
If You Are Into Videos
Then I Hope You Enjoy This Weeks & Take The Time To Share Your Thoughts With Me!
I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!

1. What did you do at a time when you got crickets? (don’t be shy it happens to all of us)
Thanks for watching & I’ll see you guys in the comment section!

Awesome! Thanks for the info on these 3 steps will definitely be trying this. Ive been hearing crickets since we (my husband and I) opened our lil business on Instagram. We’ve received a lot of likes but no one is buying anything yet. We haven’t given up. We are a graphic Design Husband and wife team. We sell poster prints and invitations, anything that has to do with paper goods and design. We are working on our website, i think once we launch our website we will get people to buy some of our prints. Thanks Nevica for this post really helps!!!

Hi Esther!
Thank you so much for having the courage to share that. I know these three steps will be able to help you. The website is definitely a start. It is harder to make sales through Instagram because there are so many steps to take. For paper goods like you are describing I would consider starting with Etsy first since a website is a lot more work. Then eventually move to your own website. Let me know how things are going for you as you take new steps!
I absolutely love your video and the advice you gave. Hearing crickets can be difficult to get over.
Thanks Nakeya! (I love your name :))
Yes it definitely can be hard to get over crickets. But there is always something that can be learned from it, and always another way to change your approach and try again. So we can’t let it hold us back!
I’m a big fan of your videos! Not only is your advice great, but you make it so easy to understand and you come across really relaxed and natural. As someone who’s tried to make a few videos I know how hard it is!
Aw thank you so much Rosalind!
That means so much to me, I really want to make it as easy for people as possible. Because business shouldn’t have to be hard! And oh goodness it definitely takes work and practice to come across natural. It is still challenging for me at times but I know I will continue to get better with practice. Don’t give up on video you will get better with practice!
This was so great to watch and such perfect advice. Hearing some of those crickets is hard and sometimes it makes me feel like I am not expressing myself the way I should thank you.
Thank you so much Susan!
I definitely agree with that! Sometimes when we hear crickets it is because we are not relaying our message in a way that connects with our audience. So it could just be about changing the language. Thanks you for taking the time to leave a comment Susan!
Great advice!! You are fantastic on camera!! 🙂
Thanks so much Alex! Ah it totally takes a lot of practice I think/hope I am getting better on camera every week! 🙂
Great advice! If at first you don’t succeed, try try again!
Haha yes! Great way to look at it!
Your work is beautiful Gracie!
Fantastic advice! Thanks for sharing your video and tips!
Thank you Jeanine!
Your latest teen shoot was stunning! Great work!
This is great!! I have been a little afraid of putting myself out there as far as asking the audience to respond specifically, but this advice is awesome and I will definitely remember if I ever hear crickets!
I totally agree Kristin! It can definitely be intimidating especially in places like social media where everyone can see if someone has responded or not. But following these steps has definitely worked for me so I hope it does for you also!
ps. Your birth sessions are AMAZING!
Thank you so much! They are my favorite 🙂
