Don’t try to be Beyonce.. unless you’re Beyonce.
In 2013 Beyonce surprised the world and dropped an album without any notice. And guess what? It was a huge hit and she broke records. Well since Beyonce is Beyonce and has a huge and loyal fan base of millions of people, she can do that. Most of us small business owners on the other hand.. will not have much success if we do.
If you are working on a new product or service there are two options. 1. You can start telling people about it while you are working on it or even before you start working on it. Or 2. You work on it without telling anyone then one day randomly put it up for sale on your website and tell people “Hey I made something new you should go buy it, check it out!”. Uhm.. what? I don’t know anything about this new thing you created. I’m going to have to hear about it/learn about it a lot more before I even consider spending money on this.
Which of the two sounds better to you? I’d say number 1. In this video I will give you four steps to take when you are working on a new project. So that when it’s time to release what you are working on, you will have people waiting at their computers, on your website, ready to click buy!
After the video let me know what new project you are working on right now & if you will use this method to start creating buzz about it before you make it available to buy.
If you have any business or marketing questions that you want answered in a future video send them to hello@nevicavazquez.com.
Thanks for watching & I’ll see you guys in the comment section!

Such great tips as always Nevica! I’m working on my DIY Website course but have not really told anyone (and I’m DEFINITELY not Beyonce 😉 ) will be putting these tips to good use! x
That is so exciting Jess!
I can’t wait to hear more about it! You should definitely start preparing a launch plan for it! Dropping hints about it as early as now will be great. But following these tips and preparing in advance for how to roll it out will definitely help to make it a successful launch! So glad you liked the video that means so much! 🙂
Great video!! I used all of these tips for my upcoming launch of my Streamline with Systems course!
Thanks so much Heather!
And I know I have been following your launch you are doing an awesome job!
I know your course will be a great success!
Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment! <3
Great tips, Nevica! And of course I LOVE the Beyonce reference. I have been guilty of that in the past, so I’m making a vow to stop it RIGHT now, because of course, I don’t have Beyonce status…yet 🙂 I am working on a program to help new(er) life and weight loss coaches get their business up and running in less time with less stress, which includes not only strategy and direction on where to focus their time and money, but a team of people to help them implement so they get used to delegation and can build a business that doesn’t have them chained to their laptop. It drops soon 🙂
That sounds awesome TaVona!
I am so excited to hear that you will be implementing this strategy.
I can’t wait to follow along! 🙂
Thank you! I so needed to hear this! I’m going to be launching mentoring services soon, and I wasn’t sure if I should share much about it or keep quiet. This answered my questions. Thank you!
Oh Nicole!
That makes me so happy to hear! Definitely start marketing it now so that it can sell out when you release it! Keep me updated on how it goes for you!
Awesome video Nevica! Wouldn’t it be nice to be Beyonce! Love these tips!
Thank you! I love me some Beyonce but me being me and you being you is JUST as awesome too! 🙂 And trust me Beyonce worked her butt off for YEARS to be able to pull this method off!
Great advice! I hopped over from the Savvy FB group and have loved your posts! 🙂
Thanks Alysa!
I love the Savvy Group<3 Heather created such an awesome community. Thanks for stopping by!
Nevica – My first time watching one of your videos, sent by Savvy Business Owners Facebook group. That. Was. Mind. Blowing. I have never considered marketing before I launch. I’m working on two things right now, a build your own favor bag in my Etsy store (the buyer will pick the packaging and then each item they want to go in it) and simultaneously I’m launching my blog about kids parties. Totally going to implement this. It did spark the question how do I market when I don’t have many followers yet but I see you offer “how to find your dream clients” so I’m headed there next! Will totally be following you now!
Hi Michelle!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I love the Savvy group 🙂
I am so happy you were able to learn something from this video! & what you are working on sounds awesome! Let me tell you a secret launching something builds your following!
If you implement these steps it will help you to build a following because you will create excitement around it. But the Find Your Dream Clients guide will definitely help you to find those people.
Let me know if you have any more questions!
So glad to have you here 🙂
Love this video, such helpful tips that I will absolutely use with my nest product launch! Thank you!!! Side note – your hair is so absolutely gorgeous!!
So excited that you will use these tips on your next launch Ariel! That makes me so happy! And aw thank you so much! <3
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment 🙂
Love this! Always a great reminder. I struggle with finding the time to build a plan around a launch, and end up not launching anything since I can’t seem to do it right. Thanks for all the advice!
I completely understand how hard that can be. But like anything we need schedule it and do it when we schedule it. The work you put into it will definitely be worth it!
Love this!
Great tips!!! Love the music artist reference, such a smart way to look at it! Just subscribed to your YouTube channel, looking forward to more great tips!
Aw just now seeing this.
Thanks so much Vanessa! It makes me so happy to hear that! I hope you have been enjoying my most recent videos!
Nevica! These videos are awesome! I love the comparisons to the music industry – really helps give a great visual! I’ll be using the tips in here very soon!! YAY!
Thanks so much Trisha! I love using the music industry in a lot of my examples! It’s something a lot of us are familiar with. SO happy to hear you will be applying these tips!
Great advice!! I’m sharing this in a female entrepreneur group I’m a part of. 🙂
Thank you so much Jennifer! That means so much 🙂
Your magazine is awesome! Great job on it!
Great tips, thank you! I actually am going to start marketing for an open studio party and i havent even lined the participants and vendors up entirely yet. You got me to thinking though, why NOT spread some love about the event before everything is finalized? More buzz = more people. Thanks!
Yes, yes yes! Start talking about it now!
Everything does not have to be finalized just let people know what you are working on so you can start building up the anticipation and excitement!
And a studio party sounds awesome! Go for it girl!
The procrastinator in me struggles with this! Thanks for the tips!
I completely understand Katey!
It can definitely be hard to talk about things before hand and before they are “ready”. But when you push through the procrastination the results will pay off!
Such great advice, thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much Kenzie! Your blog is so fun!
Do you ever launch things like new series or events?
i agree! This is smart marketing and will light a fire under you butt to get it done. Self-made accountability! Love the video too I am on the way to meet with my business partner to make out first video for our site!
Yes! Public accountability will always keep you in check!
The Hive & Co. looks awesome! Congrats on working on your first video!
They are lots of work to do but always rewarding when you see the results!
If you’re interested in guest posting we’d love to have you!
Such great advice and I totally agree!! I really need to work on this because sometimes I feel like I won’t be prepared in time or some hang up will get in my way and prevent me from keeping my word and then I feel like I failed or disappointed people. I think I just need to find a better balance between being prepared and announcing!
When you are first letting people know that you are working on something and that something is coming up it may be too early to know when it will be ready. So if that is the case then don’t tell them a specific date. Just say “hey guys I am working on something super exciting, I can’t wait until I can share more”. Then slowly start releasing more details about it, until you know the date for sure and that you can stick to that date.
That way you won’t be disappointing yourself or anyone else. Not following through on a promise always stinks, but our best followers also know that we are humans too. So if it does happen just be honest about it, they will still love you! 🙂
Thanks Nevica! Great advice! =)
LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!!! wow what great tips and tricks on announcing a new project…. I just moved from Calif to Florida and I want to announce this exciting news without freaking out my potential california clients since i will be flying back and forth from FL to CA for weddings, shoots, events etc…. I just don’t know how to promote this….. you gave a lot of great tips but can you help me for my specific situation? you rock!!!!
Hey Camryn!
Thanks so much for your sweet words & for your question!
So – I took a look at your website and your instagram and from both I see that you have (in your insta bio & on the homepage of your website) already listed yourself as a CA & FL photographer.
So when you say you want to let people know about this – besides already putting it in your insta bio and on your website how have you let people know?
Also, how do you normally communicate with your audience to tell them things? I don’t see anywhere to sign up for a newsletter on your site, so I’m not sure if you have one. But that would be a great way to tell them.
When it comes to not freaking them out, what are you most concerned with? Do you think you CA clients will “freak out” because now they will have to pay you to travel? Let me know what they would be afraid of so we can make sure we answer all of those concerns they have with solutions they will love!
LOVED your video, Nevica!!! And this is perfect timing for a little something I’m working on for my business (putting it out there in the universe!). Thanks for the tips and encouragement for building buzz before the launch! xo
Jenna!
I am so glad you liked the video and so glad it was helpful! I cannot wait to see what you are working on! So far I have loved everything you have put out! You did such a great job with building the buzz for your planner a few months ago. So I know you will do a great job on this one also!
PS. Thank you SO much for sharing this on Twitter! I don’t use twitter but saved my handle so no one else could take it and just got an email that you shared it! Thank you so much girl!
Awesome post! I am definitely going to do this with my next collection of jewelry!
Hey Adri!
That is so awesome to hear! I know it will be a hit if you start talking about it before it’s out! Let me know when you start sharing it and dropping hints!
This is so timely for me. I am working on a fitness biz (getting certified right now) and possibly a coaching biz. I was kind of nervous to even mention either of those things, but I definitely see the need for some “hints after this post! Thanks!
Ah that is amazing Danielle!
Way to go on getting trained and certified! Definitely start mentioning it now! Let people know what you are up to! That way it will start sinking in for them. So when you officially announce it, it won’t come as a shock and they will know it’s something you have been working hard at. So they will trust that you know your stuff!
I love this post — such great advice! I think I always keep projects to myself because I’m afraid to share (in case they’re not perfect). But that’s crazy. I know I need to build excitement — and maybe the added pressure of an excited audience will only make my project turn out that much better 🙂
YES! You brought up such a good point Moriah! Once you know that other people know about what you are doing, one it will make sure you go through with it so that it happens! (public accountability) And two it will give you the extra motivation to make it great! So definitely let your photography and design clients know what you are up to!
SO smart – I’m so glad I read this because it has made me realize I need to get busy marketing what I’m working on NOW, instead of letting more time slip by. As I grow and get to know my audience, I need to be sharing what they can expect and what is to come. Thanks for these tips Nevica!
Ah Kelsey! Yes, Yes, and Yes! You are speaking my language! I’m so happy you are going to start talking about what you are working on! Sharing what they can expect and what is to come will just continue to to get them excited and ready to BUY!
