I don’t know about you but I have been seeing workshops pop up every where. Everyone seems to be having them or going to them. I don’t mind it at all honestly because getting off of the internet and meeting some cool boss ladies in person is definitely my idea of a good time! So I am pretty happy that in person events are becoming a lot easier to find and attend.
But when it comes to you and your business is a workshop something you have been thinking about? Are you craving some in person boss lady interaction?! Just the thought of having a workshop sounds like a dream come true to a lot of ladies I know. But it’s definitely not something you can rush into.
There are a few things you need to consider to make sure that a workshop would be good move for your business. First of all have you taught a group of people before? Teaching is definitely an art, and just because you know how to do something does not mean you know how to teach it. So before teaching a group of people you should have had practice teaching at least one person at a time to get the hang of things.
In the video I talk about some more things you should consider before having a workshop. After the video let me know if you have been thinking about having a work shop, and are you going to make it happen?
If you have any business or marketing questions that you want answered in a future video send them to hello@nevicavazquez.com.
Thanks for watching & I’ll see you guys in the comment section!

I want to eventually host workshops (teaching makeup techniques) and I had never thought about hiring an event planner. That would definitely help (even just the first time) to learn all that would go into my specific event and start it off well. And save me from tons of stress!
Yes Mollie I completely agree it would definitely save a lot of stress!
There are even people who specifically work with entrepreneurs to bring their workshops to life. I know Lauren Caselli does this you can find her at http://www.laurencaselli.com/. Let me know when you decide to make the jump and decide to have it. Sounds like fun!
Such a great idea for hiring an event planner, I had never considered that either!
Same here!
Thanks Jess!
They would definitely make things a lot easier! I know there are ladies who specifically help entrepreneurs plan their workshop, retreat, or conference. Lauren Caselli is one of them! I know this would really help so that us biz owners can focus on the content and experience of the event!
Loved this! I love the boss lady interaction but the thought of putting on a workshop sounds like so much work- and quite frankly, I don’t have the time or experience to put in. Great video!
I feel the exact same way Kayli! I am in the same position right now. It definitely seems like a lot of fun and I would love to have one some day in the future. But I am not in a place to do it right now. Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment I really appreciate it! 🙂
Great tips! It’s definitely not something to jump right into without some serious consideration!
This is a good list. Definitely great things to consider before creating a big event.
Great points! and random, but I love the mirrored vase with flowers. I feel like flowers always liven things up.
I just taught a small business workshop and from experience, I can say that these are all great suggestions. I also love the video format that you chose!
Great tips as always Nevica! I have some ideas for some workshops I want to do in the future that are a little different than what I’m seeing lately, so hopefully I can turn that vision into a reality. Love the event planner idea…never thought of that! Love!
This is super valuable! And so true that having a team can be so helpful to create the full experience!
Thanks Lauren! Have you ever thought about hosting a workshop? You have such a great platform and wonderful audience! I see that you already do creative mentoring which is awesome!
Oh my gosh, you’re too sweet! I have absolutely considered it! These tips were helpful to think through potential next steps if it might really be something to pursue! It would be a dream!
Workshops are popping up everywhere. Fun topic and great to actually ask yourself these questions first before deciding!!
They totally are! I think it’s because people are really craving in person connection as oppose to online education!
PS. I love your kid shoots!
Great ideas! I hadn’t thought about a workshop before – but maybe…
It’s definitely not for everyone, it has to really make sense for your business model! And you have to actually want to do it. But I can see from your website that you absolutely have the expertise and audience to have one! PS. Your branding is amazing!
Thank you so much!
There is definitely a learning curve. If it’s not delivering the content itself, it’s technology snafus!
There is totally a bunch to learn! But I definitely know if you want to figure it out you will or you will find the people to help you figure it out! I love that you are a Copywriter specifically for wedding planners! What a great niche!
Yes!
Awwwww…thank you. I love what I do and I love wedding planners!
Such great information! We have been asked to host more workshops and people don’t realize the amount of work that goes into them! I love the idea of an Event Planner. I think that would take the stress off some as well as bring more of an elevated experience!
Hey Ashley!
I totally agree!
People definitely don’t realize how much work a workshop takes!
Definitely let me know if you end up hiring an event planner for yours!
It may make the experience and work so much more enjoyable for you!
